Affirmative Action Planning

Iowa State University recognizes the fundamental importance of providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community. The university’s Principles of Community include respect, richness of diversity, and freedom from discrimination.

The Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) oversees the university’s compliance efforts related to employment equity, including Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity. OEO maintains the university’s Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), which is designed to ensure equal employment opportunity for all individuals. Affirmative Action Plans are required of any federal contractor that receives $50,000 or more in federal contracts and that has 50 or more employees. The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (“OFCCP”) monitors whether federal contractors are complying with their affirmative action obligations.
